FL5 Carbon Side Skirts – Dry Carbon Aero Upgrade for Civic Type R FL5
At Automotive Passion, we have engineered a pair of Pre-Preg Dry Carbon Fibre side skirt replacements specifically for the Honda Civic Type R FL5. Side skirts are a full replacement for the plastic factory skirts re using all original mounting point and clip locations within the side sill.
Designed to enhance the vehicle’s side profile while maintaining OEM integration, these skirts add visual width and a lowered appearance—without altering the actual ride height.
Our goal was to sharpen the car’s side silhouette while maintaining factory fitment and ensuring lightweight functionality.
During the design phase, we carefully shaped the skirts to work with natural airflow along the lower body. This was achieved through our in-house aerodynamic simulation software, allowing us to run dynamic wind speed testing on CAD models and engineering drawings. This optimisation helps manage side turbulence and contributes to overall aerodynamic balance at high speeds.
All parts are manufactured from high-quality pre-preg dry carbon fibre, finished in Glasurit clear coat with full UV protection. Options available include Gloss Twill
The side skirts are full replacements, not stick over covers which add to overall vehicle weight, replacing the factory side skirts entirely. Designed as plug-and-play components, they use original mounting points and clip positions.
Full side sill needs to be removed from the vehicle to remove the factory skirts prior to installing the AP Carbon Skirts.
For best results we recommend professional installation by a body shop to ensure precision and durability.
